The Santa Monica Conservancy’s new tour of Palisades Park is a voyage of discovery – the people, the history, the landscape, the historic structures and the special places….opening up new vistas into Santa Monica’s unique character.
The tour takes place on Sunday June 13 from 3 – 6 pm. Docents stationed at points of interest along the walk route provide new insights and information, sharing photographs of the park in former days.
An exhibition of vintage postcards of the park, historic watercolors and photographs of landscape features will be held at the Senior Recreation Center, where refreshments will be served.
Shuttle buses take tour-goers from check-in at the Visitors Center, 1400 Ocean Avenue, to the northern boundary, making the walk one way – downhill.
Advance reservations strongly recommended as space is limited. Tickets are $10 for members, $15 for nonmembers. A limited number of tickets may be available on the day of tour. To purchase tickets visit our website at www.smconservancy.org.
