The Next Food Network Star Contestant Darrell ‘DAS’ Smith Talks Santa Monica Farmers’ Markets
LA resident Darrell “DAS” Smith, 28, is competing in Season 6 of The Next Food Network Star which premieres on Sunday, June 6th on the Food Network. When it comes to favorite places to shop for ingredients in Los Angeles, Darrell says hands down its all about the Santa Monica Farmers’ Market.
I love our Santa Monica farmers markets!
How many towns do you know that have 3 farmers markets a week? Wednesday and Saturday at 3rd. Street & Arizona, (the Promenade) from 8:30am-1:30pm where all the Chefs Shop for their restaurants! There is an incredible array of so many organic veggies. Wednesday is a treasure trove with the biggest selection, then on Sunday’s at the Heritage Museum located at 2640 Main Street from 9:30am-1:30pm, this one is really the most fun with live music and plenty of fresh made foods can be purchased from a really nice selection of vendors with lots of good eats at inexpensive prices and there are lots of people sprawled out on the lawn eating and having a great time! It’s really cool but then again what else would you expect, it’s Santa Monica beach!
I was just talking with my coworker about this today at lunch . Don’t remember how we landed on the subject actually , they brought it up. I do recall eating a amazing chicken salad with ranch on it. I digress…
I do try writing about that matter but all I can think of is stuff already written, All I do is thinking about what others like you wrote, from where do you get your insperation?
